Thua Thien Hue Chairman Nguyen Van Cao receives representative of Hanwha Corporation (South Korea)
On November 18, Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, had a meeting with Mr. Lee Ji-Hwang, Policy Consultant of the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, representative of Hanwha Corporation of Korea. The meeting was about the investment of a solar power plant in Thua Thien Hue province.rnrnAccording to Mr. Lee Ji-Hwang, Hanwha Corporation is the 5th largest Korean investor in the fields of finance, construction, and energy. Within the scope of the Cooperation Agreement between the governments of Korea and Vietnam, Hanwha has invested solar power projects in Vietnam. Hanwha would also like to cooperate with Thua Thien Hue province to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 100-200Mw and a total capital of about 200 million USD.rnrnChairman Cao highly appreciated Hanwha’s solar power project in Thua Thien Hue province. This investment is not only consistent with development policy of clean energy sources and renewable energy of the Government of Vietnam but also in line with socio-economic development orientations of Thua Thien Hue province. Therefore, Thua Thien Hue totally agreed to Hanwha’s project and committed to create the most favorable conditions for Hanwha to research and do survey to build a solar power plant soon in the province.
