Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019 wrapped up

After 7 festive days, the closing ceremony of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019 themed “Vietnamese quintessence” was held in Quoc Hoc Hue stage on May 1st. The successful festival season left good impression on locals and tourists. Attending the closing ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Chief of National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province Phan Ngoc Tho.

Speaking at the closing ceremonny, Vice Permanent Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue city Nguyen Dang Thanh kindly informed that the 9th Hue Traditional Craft Festival themed “Vietnamese quintessence” which took place from April 26th to May 2nd was successfully held. Its various activities attracted the attention of domestic and international tourists. Hue Traditional Craft Festival brought together 350 people’s artisans, meritorious artisans, talented artisans from 60 famous craft villages from localities across the country such as Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Ha Noi, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dong Thap, Hung Yen and Thua Thien Hue province. This year event will introduce 16 groups of craft i.e. embroidery, jewellery, carpentry, bronze, ceramic, paper flower, calligraphy, painting, kite, textile – garment, bamboo knitting craft, incense, essential oils, lion dance, branded and traditional products. In addition to unique products of crafts and traditional craft villages, oriental medicine is one of Hue features introduced in exhibitions, health care check up and performance.
There are many spectacular programs and activities took place in Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019, for example, craft honoring possession, the Aodai show themed “The aodai on heritage road” and cultural community activites. Other sideline activities were also held, for example, gastronomy festival, hot air balloon festival, exhibition spaces where art products, artifacts, featured traditional craft products, unique collections of famous collectors, etc were on display
The highlight of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019 is many beautifully decorated spaces which honor artisans and craft villages along Huong river bank. These spaces introduce artisans, craft villages, the traditional products of international cities, lotus, brocade, silk, aodai, Hue oriental medicine, bamboo knitting craft, Vietnamese gastronomy, kites and calligraphy, etc. Each space not only tells a story about the traditional craft, but also introduces craft products imbued with Vietnamese tradition as well as international integration.
Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019 is now heading to international scope. Thanks to local friendly cooperation relations and pretige, famous traditional crafts from worldwide countries attended this year event. In total, there are 17 international tourists, 70 artisans from international cities and organizations from Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Turkey, etc attended this year festival.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizer announced and presented 15 awards (1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 9 consolidation prizes) to typical products on Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019. Besides, the Organizer honored cities, international organizations, associations, craft units and international artisans
The success of Hue Traditional Craft Festival honors the quintessence of traditional crafts, the talent of artisans from typical craft villages; promote the friendly cooperative relations between Hue city and international cities; create a close relation, the solidarity and development of traditional craft brand of Vietnam and international partners.
