On December 24th, the inauguration ceremony of Hue University Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation was held. Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung; the leader representatives of relevant departments, agencies, member universities and Hue University students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Ph. D Nguyen Quang Linh, Director of Hue University kindly informed that it was necessary and important to establish entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in the context of powerful entrepreneurship and innovation wave in recent years. In entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, university plays an important role in national entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. Universities need to research, generate knowledge and technology for the society, provide innovation ideas for entrepreneurship projects, contribute to the growth of intellectual knowledge and capacity of enterprises.
In the past time, Hue University in general, its member universities and affiliated units in particular concerned about entrepreneurship and innovation; investing, creating every favorable condition such as infrastructure, people and finance, etc to promote, implement and support entrepreneurship and innovation activities for Hue University cadres and staff. “Hue University leaders showed their clear commitment and strong determination on coming entrepreneurship and innovation activities through establishing the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; creating shared working space; completing factors of Hue University entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.” Asso. Prof. Ph. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, Director of Hue University emphasized.
Hue University aims to stimulate and practice start-up spirit, businessman spirit among students; build belief and the spirit of being unafraid of failure; stimulate innovation; encourage “dare to think dare to act” spirit, enthusiasm in manufacture and business; stimulate students in establishing their career path.
Accordingly, the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province promulgated Decision No. 1540/QD-UBND plan on entrepreneurship and innovation support in Thua Thien Hue province, 2017-2020 period, orientation towards 2025.
Detail objectives:
2017-2020: support at least 30 entrepreneurship and innovation projects, at least 15 entrepreneurship and innovation enterprises; 03 enterprises calling for venture capital, purchase and merge with the total value of VND 3 billion.
To 2025: support at least 40 entrepreneurship and innovation projects, at least 25 entrepreneurship and innovation enterprises; 10 enterprise calling for venture capital, purchase and merge with the total value of VND 10 billion.
