Being one of the main activities held within Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019, the Aodai show themed “The aodai on heritage road” took place in Noon Gate, Hue Imperial City on April 28th.
Under the theme “The aodai on heritage road”, designers were inspired by beautiful natural sceneries, traditional culture of UNESCO-recognized heritages located in Central and highlands. Therefore, familiar images such as the Citadel of Hue dynasty (Thanh Hoa province), Phong Nha Ke Bang (Quang Binh province), the monuments complex under Nguyen dynasty (Thua Thien Hue province), Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam province), My Son Temple Complex (Quang Nam province), etc were described on aodai designs.
This year, the Aodai show brought together hundreds of aodai designs from 16 collections of 17 designers, for example, Chula, Cao Duy, Viet Bao, Ngoc Han, Nhi Hoang, Phuong Thanh, Minh Hanh, etc. In particular, aodai designs are made from traditional silk from high quality brands such as Ha Bao Silk, Minh Tuyet Silk, Vietnam Silk House (Bao Loc district, Lam Dong province) and Thai Nam Silk of Nha Xa (Hanoi city). The creativity of designers brought new values for the aodai as well as took audiences to heritage sites across the Central Vietnam.
The Aodai show is one of the most expected programs within Hue Traditional Craft Festival. It not only attracted thousands of participants, but also contributed to traditional cultural values as well as honored the Vietnamese traditional costume.
