Australian Volunteer International sponsors a project on enhancing women’s capacity to minimize plastic trash in Thua Thien Hue province

In an attempt to build clean community environment in Ngu My Thanh hamlet (Quang Loi commune, Quang Dien district), minimize plastic trash and attract visitors, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province approved the non-refundable AVI-sponsored project entitled “Enhancing women’s capacity to minimize plastic trash in Ngu My Thanh hamlet, Quang Loi commune, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province” on July 30th, 2019.
The VND 232 million non-refundable project provides training course on minimizing plastic trash by enhancing public awareness and changing locals’ habit; improves the infrastructure of trash gathering and separation in markets, wharfs, lagoons and local tourist boats; provides local women with bamboo knitting bags as a replacement for single-use plastic bags.
The project will be deployed in 6 months (from April 22nd, 2019 to October 22nd, 2019).
