Within the framework of the Tourist project, the opening ceremony of the Competent Center for the Development of Sustainable Tourism was held at Hospitality Faculty – Hue University.
TOURIST is the project sponsored by Erasmus+ Fund – European Union. It focuses on sustainable tourism development and financial management methods. It aims to enhance the positive impact of local tourism in Thailand and Vietnam.
Competent Center for the Development of Sustainable Tourism is the first and only Center in Central region and Highlands Vietnam that provides consultancy services and training activities, studies, connects and recognizes sustainable tourism.
The Center is in charge of offering products and services that are connected with sustainable tourism and environment. It also helps raise economic benefits in local community.
Accordingly, coordinator specialists from the Republic of Austria will cooperate with domestic tourism experts to train experts, and lecturers. In the near future, the project aims to consult, commercialize tourism products and services as well as establish the long-term relationship with partners in the fields of tourism.
In the long term, the Center will develop and diversify programs on consultancy, research, training services, matching and recognition for targeted customers such as institutions, tourism enterprises, departments, agencies and local community. Also, the Center will connect similar tourism centers and organizations in region and the world to deploy international sustainable tourism development project.
Within the project, lecturer from Hospitality Faculty – Hue University will have a chance to study sustainable tourism products in developed countries, enterprises and authorities. On this basis, lecturers will research and transfer experience learned from developed countries to Vietnam and Thua Thien Hue province.
