On December 31st, the incense-offering ceremony and 230th anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue’s coronation and Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory (1788-2018) were held in Ban mountain (An Tay ward, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province). Attending the event were Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Thanh Ha; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committeee, Chief of National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province Phan Ngoc Tho; the representatives of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thua Thien Hue province, province-level departments, agencies, leaders of Hue city, cadres and locals.
The incense-offering ceremony and the 230th anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue’s coronation, Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory had many important meanings. They showed the worship and gratefulness of the Party, government and locals to Tay Son movement and the national hero. In addition, the events helped educate and inspire patriotism and hero tradition in national industrialization, modernization for prosperous people, democratic, fair and civilized country.
At the ceremony, the story about Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue and the proud victory of the express operation led by Emperor Quang Trung was described through traditional martial art performances, lion dance, coronation ceremony, etc.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thanh recalled that Emperor Nguyen Hue – Quang Trung had heaven and earth esplanade constructed, coronation ceremony held in Ban Mountain to the South of Phu Xuan capital (Thuan Hoa – Hue) 230 years ago (1788).
Emperor Nguyen Hue launched an express operation to the North to defeat Qing invader and liberate Thang Long on 1789 New Year Eve, which marked an important historical milestone in Vietnamese proud national construction and protection process.

In Vietnamese proud history, Thuan Hoa – Phu Xuan (Hue) had a close connection with Tay Son dynasty. Tay Son dynasty obtained glorious victory in late XVIII century thanks to the national hero – Emperor Nguyen Hue.
In 1786, Emperor Nguyen Hue liberated Phu Xuan capital from the harsh rule of Trinh feudal group. The event opened up a new stage for Thuan Hoa people. Since then, Phu Xuan became the leadership center of Tay Son movement as well as a starting point and foundation for Emperor Nguyen Hue – Quang Trung to defeat the Northern invaders, reunify the country, remove the North (Dang Ngoai – Outer Expanse) and the South (Dang trong – Inner Expanse) division existing over 2 centuries.
In the past time, Thua Thien Hue and Hue city have specially concerned about promoting conservation and cultural heritage values of Tay Son movement of Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue.
On November 18th, 1988, Ban mount was recognized as national cultural historical relic. Thanks to unceasing effort and determination, the statute of Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue was basically completed and inaugurated on January 9th, 2010.
On March 25th, 2010, the relic was marked as a construction in celebrating 1.000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.
