Phung Tien is one of the five temples under Nguyen dynasty. It was constructed in a large area under Emperor Minh Mang reign (1829). Phung Tien temple is the place where Emperors, Empresses of Nguyen dynasty (from Gia Long to Khai Dinh) and royal females attended offering ceremonies and workshipped the ancestors of Nguyen dynasty every day. Phung Tien temple consists of 5 parts namely main hall, the eastern and western minor-houses and the left and right house. The entrance to Phung Tien temple is a complex of gate, front screen, shallow pond, rockery pool, etc. Over 180 years, the Temple was renovated several times. In February 1947, Phung Tien temple was completely destroyed. Its wall, main gate, front screen, shallow pond – rockery pool, small gates to the North and back screen lost it original values. The fact that the temple was destroyed and abandoned for several years put the remaining construction in danger. Therefore, restoration methods are needed to conserve remaining traces as well as renovate its tangible and intangible values.
