On January 17th, the international workshop themed “Promoting Vietnam – Canada academic partnership” was held at Hue College of Transportation by Vietnam Association of Community Colleges. Attending the workshop were the the Ambassador of Canada to Vietnam H.E. Deborah Paul; Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung.
Being held from 17th to 18th January, the workshop consists of 4 sessions, namely Vietnam – Canada academic cooperation; ensuring the quality and transition of training program; developing international academic partnership – practical experience; next steps for sustainable cooperation.
At the workshop, delegates shared and discussed issues regarding challenges, opportunities and expectations in Canada – Vietnam cooperation relation; connect discussions on leader management for the administration board of community colleges; transited training system and cooperation relation development; practical experience on developing international partnership, etc.
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung kindly informed that Vietnam-Canada relation as well as Thua Thien Hue – Canada relation have got several progress in politics, foreign affairs, economy – trade, development cooperation, education and training, people exchange, etc.
Particularly, education and training field has got powerful progresses. Among ASEAN countries, Vietnam has the highest number of overseas students studying in Canada.
The workshop is an opportunity to accelerate Vietnam – Canada academic partnership, contributing to strengthening mutual understanding, making the bilateral relation become more practical, effective as well as marking the position of Vietnam in the world.
